Peter Island Featured in Sports Illustrated

And the momentum continues. Our PR team has been busy securing editorial placement in one of the world’s most acclaimed swimsuit photography magazines ever – Sports Illustrated. Peter Island Resort & Spa, located in the British Virgin Islands, was selected as one of the exotic destinations for the 2011 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition and is featured in an impressive 20-page editorial spread.

“This was a competitive win garnered from strong relationships with international contacts and a lot of strategic pitching,” states Nina Zapala, Director of Public Relations.  “A year-long PR marketing strategy paid off.  Winning a placement for our client in one of the most coveted magazines with a reach of more than 57 million readers worldwide is quite an accomplishment,” adds Nina.

Check out the magazine for photos of Peter Island and, of course, the models too.

We’ve got a winner.

The holidays have come and gone, but there’s still some cheer going around. You see, the Anson-Stoner 2010 holiday card wasn’t just a card—it was an ornament the recipients could put together and decorate. We also asked them to send us a photo of their self-decorated ornament, and we promised to post our favorite on this blog. Well, the photos are in and we have a winner: Jessica Nolte.

Congratulations, Jessica. When it comes to the fine art of ornament decoration, you’re a, well, star. Well done.

Treasure Beach Hotel

As snow blankets much of the northeast, we here at Anson-Stoner are packing our bags and heading to Barbados to visit our new client, Treasure Beach Hotel.

Treasure Beach was recently awarded “Best Small Romantic Luxury Hotel of the Year” by Caribbean World Magazine.  This luxury hotel is reportedly located on one of the best beaches on the island.

We look forward to getting the word out on this undiscovered gem in Barbados.  The agency will be responsible for all North American campaigns, which include branding, marketing, advertising, PR and social media.  Oh, and of course, our first initiative is to research the island, the property, culinary offers and island activities.

Snorkeling anyone?

Best Ad Agency: Anson-Stoner

While we heard some voters might have, well, bent the rules, we sure didn’t.  We promise.  We’re just that good.  The results of the Orlando Business Journal (OBJ) Readers’ Choice Awards are in and Anson-Stoner was named best ad agency.  We’re honored that our hard work cuts through the advertising clutter.

The Readers’ Choice Awards are polled annually and reveal where OBJ fans prefer to shop, eat and do business.  A special thanks to everyone who voted!

The 1% Windfall

Most companies spend hundreds of thousands of dollars and invest countless hours in research and development, distribution, and marketing strategies to bring a product to market. But when it comes to setting a price for their product, many companies drop the ball. Most managers aren’t comfortable setting prices, and a lot of times critical pricing decisions are made by using the method of “this is the way we’ve always done it” or it’s “just like the competition’s” (Mohammed 23). Rafi Mohammed, author of The 1% windfall, feels that this strategy causes companies to shortchange themselves everyday. Read more »
