Congratulations are in order for DiPasqua Enterprises, owner of 89 SUBWAY® restaurants in Central Florida, which celebrated the receipt of the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Certification for their Calypso Commons’ SUBWAY in Kissimmee. This is the first official “green” SUBWAY® restaurant in the world. The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) presented DiPasqua Enterprises with a plaque honoring their commitment to providing an eco-friendly dining experience. The SUBWAY® “green” store was built with extensive use of recycled products and furnishings, and it utilizes sustainable processes that yield an estimated energy savings of about 20%.
