Anson-Stoner’s associate creative director, Gene Albamonte, was one of 30 participants from around the nation selected to attend the 2010 Sirenland Writers Conference in Positano, Italy, from March 21 – 26. In collaboration with One Story magazine and Le Sirenuse—the Amalfi Coast’s most luxurious hotel—the conference included writing workshops, discussions, readings, great food and wine, and stunning scenic views. Each morning, Gene—who submitted three short stories to the conference—attended workshops headed by Dani Shapiro: novelist and author of the best-selling memoirs Slow Motion and Devotion. Other workshop leaders included Jim Shepard and Ron Carlson.
