Faces of HIV: A chance to educate, inspire and change perception.
Every year, on December 1st, people gather around the globe for World AIDS Day to honor the continuing fight against HIV and AIDS. But all too often, HIV and AIDS awareness wanes throughout the year. That’s why Anson-Stoner and the Florida Department of Health have teamed up to extend the message of World AIDS Day by launching the Faces of HIV project. The international observance will serve as a springboard for a six-month mobile art exhibit and video series that will help illuminate the human experience of HIV infection. This new initiative showcases the lives of Florida residents living with HIV and AIDS through captivating portraits, insightful interviews and poignant journal entries, revealing the effects of stigmas, personal relationships and care issues associated with being HIV positive.
The mobile art exhibit will begin in 2012, with its first stop in Tallahassee, FL in January. The exhibit will continue in cities across the state. For more information, schedules and updates visit www.wemakethechange.com.
